Microfiber fabric has become increasingly popular in recent years due to its superior performance in cleaning, durability, and versatility. This type of fabric is made up of extremely fine synthetic fibers, typically composed of polyester and nylon, which are woven together to create a fabric that is soft to the touch, lightweight, and highly absorbent.
The origins of microfiber fabric can be traced back to the 1950s, when researchers began experimenting with new ways to produce synthetic fabrics that were more durable and efficient than traditional cotton and wool. In the 1970s, a Japanese company named Toray Industries developed the first microfiber fabric, which was initially used for cleaning and polishing products.
Today, microfiber fabric is used in a wide range of applications, including cleaning products, clothing, upholstery, and bedding. Due to its unique properties, it has become a popular choice for people who are looking for high-quality fabrics that are both durable and easy to clean.
One of the main advantages of microfiber fabric is its durability. The fibers used in microfiber fabrics are extremely strong and resilient, which means they can withstand a lot of wear and tear without losing their shape or texture. This makes them an ideal choice for use in high-traffic areas, such as furniture and clothing.
Another key advantage of microfiber fabric is its cleanability. Microfiber fabrics are highly absorbent, which means they can easily trap dirt and other particles. They are also quick-drying, which means they can be cleaned and dried quickly and easily. Additionally, microfiber fabrics are typically machine washable, which makes them very easy to care for and maintain.
Tips for Cleaning Microfiber Fabric:
Vacuum or brush off any loose dirt or debris before cleaning.
Use a gentle, non-abrasive cleaner and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Avoid using hot water, bleach, or fabric softeners, which can damage the fibers.
Allow the fabric to air dry or use a low heat setting on your dryer.
In conclusion, microfiber fabric is a versatile and durable material that has a wide range of uses in both commercial and residential settings. Its unique properties make it an ideal choice for people who are looking for high-quality fabrics that are both easy to clean and long-lasting. With proper care and maintenance, microfiber fabric can provide years of reliable performance and aesthetic appeal.
Carpet cleaning is an essential part of maintaining a clean and healthy indoor environment. Regular cleaning not only improves the appearance of carpets but also helps to remove dirt, dust, and other allergens that can cause respiratory problems. However, not all carpet cleaning methods are created equal. Traditional carpet cleaning methods often involve the use of harsh chemicals that can be harmful to the environment and our health. This is where green carpet cleaning comes in. In this article, we will discuss the importance of green carpet cleaning and its benefits.
Green carpet cleaning refers to the use of eco-friendly cleaning methods and products that are safe for both the environment and our health. Traditional carpet cleaning methods typically use harsh chemicals that can be harmful to the environment and human health. In contrast, green methods use natural and non-toxic cleaning solutions that are just as effective as traditional methods.
Traditional carpet cleaning methods often involve the use of chemicals that can pollute the environment. These chemicals can enter our waterways, soil, and air, leading to pollution and harm to wildlife. Green methods use eco-friendly cleaning solutions that are safe for the environment and do not contribute to pollution.
Traditional carpet cleaning methods often use harsh chemicals that can be harmful to human health. These chemicals can cause respiratory problems, skin irritation, and other health issues. Green carpet cleaning methods use non-toxic and natural cleaning solutions that are safe for human health and do not cause any health problems.
Improved Indoor Air Quality:
Carpets can harbor allergens such as dust, pollen, and pet dander. Traditional carpet cleaning methods may remove some of these allergens, but they can also leave behind chemical residues that can cause respiratory problems. Green methods use natural cleaning solutions that not only remove allergens but also improve indoor air quality by removing pollutants and odors.
Increased Carpet Lifespan:
Traditional carpet cleaning methods can be harsh on carpets, leading to wear and tear and a shorter lifespan. Green carpet cleaning methods use gentle cleaning solutions that are effective in removing dirt and stains without causing any damage to the carpet fibers. This can increase the lifespan of the carpet and save you money in the long run.
Green methods use natural and non-toxic cleaning solutions that are often cheaper than traditional cleaning products. This can save you money on your carpet cleaning costs while still providing an effective cleaning solution.
Green carpet cleaning is not only important for the environment but also for our health and the longevity of our carpets. By using eco-friendly cleaning solutions, we can ensure that we are not contributing to pollution, and we are creating a safe and healthy indoor environment for ourselves and our families. In addition, green carpet cleaning can save us money in the long run by increasing the lifespan of our carpets and reducing cleaning costs. So, the next time you need to clean your carpets, consider using these methods and products for a safer, healthier, and cleaner home.
Ironically some like to companies promote their “Eco-Friendly” carpet cleaning, yet they roll up in a big rig that gets 10 miles per gallon. Then they run a big gas powered machine adding greenhouse gases to the air, then proceed to clean the carpets with 30-100 gallons of fresh water that are wastefully dumped down the drain, along with harmful cleaning products often containing phosphates, antibacterials and solvents, which all end up in Puget Sound.
With salmon runs getting worse year by year and the impact on the Orcas who feed on them, this isn’t helping matters. Just think, hundreds of carpets around the Puget Sound basin are cleaned this way every day, needlessly adding thousands of gallons of polluted water into Puget Sound. Waste treatment facilities break down the bacteria, but the cleaning products go right through. Steam cleaning simply isn’t “Eco-friendly.”
We take caring for the environment inside your home as seriously as outside your home. Our hybrid vehicles get 50 MPG and our machines run on electricity, and we can clean the carpets in an entire home with 2 gallons of water and no waste water goes down the drain into Puget Sound.
Puget Sound need not suffer for us to keep our carpets clean.
Green carpet cleaning is a cleaning method that uses environmentally-friendly products and techniques to clean carpets. It is also known as eco-friendly carpet cleaning or sustainable carpet cleaning. The goal is to reduce the use of harmful chemicals and decrease water usage while still providing effective carpet cleaning.
Green carpet cleaning methods use cleaning products that are made from natural and non-toxic ingredients such as plant-based solutions. These solutions are biodegradable and safer for humans, pets, and the environment. They are also effective in removing dirt, stains, and odors from carpets.
These methods also tend to use less water than traditional methods. The process involves spraying the cleaning solution onto the carpet fibers and then using a machine to agitate the fibers and remove the dirt and stains. The machine then extracts the cleaning solution and any dirt and debris from the carpet. The carpet is left to dry naturally, reducing the need for excessive water usage.
Environmentally friendly: Products used are safe for the environment. The products are biodegradable and do not contain harmful chemicals, reducing the environmental impact of the cleaning process.
Safer for people and pets: The products do not contain harmful chemicals, making them safe for people and pets. Traditional cleaning products can contain chemicals that can cause respiratory problems, skin irritation, and other health issues.
Effective: This method is just as effective as traditional cleaning methods in removing dirt, stains, and odors from carpets.
Reduces water usage: This method uses less water than traditional methods. This reduces the amount of wastewater produced and conserves water resources.
Improves indoor air quality: methods help to improve indoor air quality by removing dust, dirt, and allergens from carpets.
Green carpet cleaning is an environmentally-friendly and safe method of cleaning carpets. It uses natural and non-toxic cleaning products and techniques to effectively remove dirt, stains, and odors from carpets. These methods also reduce water usage and improve indoor air quality. Overall, this method is a sustainable and healthier approach to carpet cleaning that benefits both people and the environment.
Today most carpet cleaning is done with big gas guzzling vans and gas powered machines producing greenhouse gases with the waste water being dumped down the drain often containing Butyl’s, phosphates and solvents (carpets can’t be cleaned with water alone no matter how special it is). While waste treatment facilities breakdown bacteria, the harmful chemicals go right through and into Puget Sound negatively impacting salmon and the Orcas who feed on them. 40% of Puget Sound salmon runs have already gone extinct, in part due to pollution.
Our carpet cleaning service uses hybrid vehicles and electric machines and no waste water goes down the drain and into Puget Sound. You can’t get a greener, more environmentally friendly carpet cleaning.

Office carpet cleaning is a critical aspect of maintaining a healthy and clean workspace. A dirty and stained carpet not only looks unappealing but can also pose a health risk to employees. Bacteria, dirt, and allergens can build up in carpets, leading to a host of problems, including allergies, asthma, and other respiratory issues. Therefore, regular carpet cleaning is essential to keep the office environment healthy and safe.
The following article will provide an in-depth overview of office carpet cleaning, including its benefits, different methods, and best practices.
Office carpets act as air filters, trapping dust, dirt, and other pollutants from the air. Over time, these pollutants can accumulate, leading to poor indoor air quality. Regular carpet cleaning helps remove these pollutants, improving the air quality and creating a healthier working environment.
Reduced Allergies and Asthma Symptoms
Office carpets are a breeding ground for allergens such as dust mites, pet dander, and pollen. These allergens can cause respiratory problems, particularly for employees with allergies and asthma. Carpet cleaning removes these allergens, reducing the risk of respiratory problems.
Prolonged Carpet Life
Regular cleaning helps remove dirt and debris that can damage carpet fibers, reducing the life of the carpet. By removing these contaminants, you can extend the life of your carpet and save on replacement costs.
Clean carpets make a good impression on clients and visitors. A clean carpet is also a morale booster for employees, creating a clean and organized workspace that enhances productivity.
Hot water extraction, also known as steam cleaning, is the most common method of office carpet cleaning. The process involves spraying hot water mixed with a cleaning solution onto the carpet and then vacuuming it up. The hot water and cleaning solution break down dirt and stains, and the vacuum removes the debris.
Hot water extraction is effective in removing dirt, bacteria, and allergens from carpets. However, it can take longer to dry, and spots and soil can wick up and some carpets may not be suitable for this method.
Encapsulation is a form of dry cleaning and involves using a cleaning solution to clean the carpet. The solution is applied to the carpet and agitated to break down dirt and stains. The counter rotating heads of the 110 pound machine powerfully scrub the carpets clean.
Encapsulation cleaning is effective in removing soil and stains, and the carpet dries quickly, making it the ideal process for busy offices and commercial carpet.
Bonnet cleaning involves using a rotary machine with a bonnet pad to clean the carpet. The bonnet pad is soaked in a cleaning solution and then rotated over the carpet. The pad absorbs dirt and stains from the carpet, and the process is repeated until the carpet is clean.
Bonnet cleaning is effective in removing surface dirt and stains, and the carpet dries quickly, making it ideal for busy offices. However, it may not be suitable for deep cleaning or heavily soiled carpets.
Regular Cleaning: Regular carpet cleaning is essential to maintain a clean and healthy working environment. Depending on the traffic and use, carpets should be cleaned every six months to a year.
Choose the Right Method: Different carpets and stains require different cleaning methods. Choose a cleaning method that is suitable for your carpet type and the type of stains you are dealing with.
Hire a Professional: Professional carpet cleaners have the expertise and equipment to clean carpets effectively. They can also identify potential problems and offer solutions before they become serious.
Treat Stains Immediately: Stains should be treated immediately to prevent them from setting in. Blot the stain with a clean cloth or paper towel, then apply a cleaning solution and blot again until the stain is removed.
Vacuum Regularly: Regular vacuuming helps remove dirt and debris that can damage carpet fibers. Vacuuming also helps maintain the appearance of the carpet.
Use Walk-Off Mats: Placing walk-off mats at the entrances can help reduce the amount of dirt and debris that enters the office. The mats should be cleaned regularly to maintain their effectiveness.
Use Green Cleaning Products: Green cleaning products are environmentally friendly and safe for employees. They are also effective in removing dirt and stains from carpets.
Allow Time for Drying: After cleaning, carpets should be allowed to dry completely before use. Damp carpets can attract dirt and bacteria, leading to more problems.
Choosing the right office carpet cleaning company can be a daunting task, but it’s essential to ensure your carpets are properly maintained and cleaned. Here are some factors to consider when selecting an office carpet cleaning company:
Experience: Look for a company with experience in office carpet cleaning. They should have a track record of successful jobs and be able to provide references from previous clients.
Certifications: Check if the company has certifications from reputable organizations in the carpet cleaning industry. Certifications indicate that the company has the expertise and training to handle various types of carpets and stains.
Reputation: Look for reviews and ratings from previous customers to determine the company’s reputation. You can check online review sites, social media platforms, or ask for references from the company.
Insurance: Ensure the company has insurance that covers any damages that may occur during the cleaning process. This will give you peace of mind knowing that you won’t be liable for any damages.
Equipment and Cleaning Products: Check if the company uses up-to-date equipment and environmentally friendly cleaning products. The equipment should be well-maintained, and the cleaning products should be safe for use in the office environment.
Cost: Compare prices from different companies to ensure you are getting a fair price. Beware of companies that offer unusually low prices, as they may not be using quality equipment or cleaning products.
Customer Service: Choose a company that values its customers and provides excellent customer service. They should be responsive to your needs, provide clear communication, and be willing to address any concerns or issues you may have.
By considering these factors, you can choose a reputable and reliable office carpet cleaning company that will keep your carpets clean and well-maintained. A clean and healthy office environment contributes to employee productivity and enhances the overall image of your business.

Today there are 5 different carpet cleaning technologies used as essential processes for maintaining the hygiene and cleanliness of carpets, rugs, and other floor coverings. These various technologies are available for cleaning carpets, and each technology has its own advantages and disadvantages. In this article, we will discuss the different technologies used for carpet cleaning, their benefits, and limitations.
Hot Water Extraction (HWE):
Hot water extraction (HWE), also known as steam cleaning (even though steam isn’t used), is one of the most common carpet cleaning methods. In this method, hot water is injected into the carpet under high pressure. The hot water dislodges dirt and other contaminants from the fibers, and a powerful vacuum then extracts the dirt, water, and cleaning solution from the carpet.
However, one of the drawbacks of HWE is that it can leave the carpet wet, which can lead to mold and mildew growth if not dried properly. It also takes longer to dry than some other methods, which can be an inconvenience. Additionally, some types of carpets, such as those made of natural fibers like silk or jute, may not be suitable for HWE due to the risk of damage.
This method isn’t very environmentally friendly. Large gas guzzling vehicles are used and the machines themselves are gas powered so cleaning this way produces the most greenhouse gas. Also, all the waste water goes down the drain, and while waste treatment facilities treat the bacteria, all the cleaning products go right through often containing phosphates, butyls and solvents (There is no special water that cleans carpets without any cleaning products). All these products end up in Puget Sound where salmon numbers are dwindling and impacting the Orcas who feed on them.
Dry Powder Cleaning:
Dry powder cleaning, also known as dry carpet cleaning, is a low-moisture carpet cleaning method. In this method, a cleaning agent in the form of a dry powder is sprinkled over the carpet. The powder is then worked into the fibers using a machine with rotating brushes, which break down the dirt and other contaminants. The powder is then vacuumed up along with the dirt and debris.
Dry powder cleaning is a good option for carpets that cannot be wet cleaned, such as those made of natural fibers like sisal or seagrass. It is also a faster method than HWE, as the carpet is ready for use immediately after cleaning. However, it may not be as effective as HWE at removing deep-seated dirt and stains. It is also more expensive than other methods, as the dry powder cleaning agents can be costly.
Encapsulation is a relatively new carpet cleaning method that has gained popularity in recent years. In this method, a cleaning solution is applied to the carpet fibers, which breaks down the bonded soil and forms tiny crystals around the dirt and other contaminants. The carpets are powerfully scrubbed with a counter-rotating brush machine spinning at 300 RPM’s which removes the bonded soil better than just spraying water like HWE. (Do you just spray your pots and pans or do you scrub them?) The crystals are then vacuumed up along with the dirt, leaving the carpet clean.
Encapsulation is a low-moisture method that dries quickly and is ideal for residential and commercial settings where downtime must be minimized. It is also an eco-friendly option, as the cleaning agents are non-toxic and biodegradable and no chemicals go down the drain and into Puget Sound.
Bonnet cleaning, also known as spin carpet cleaning, is a method that uses a rotating pad or bonnet to clean the carpet. The bonnet is soaked in a cleaning solution and then worked into the carpet fibers using a machine. The bonnet absorbs the dirt and debris from the carpet, and the process is repeated until the carpet is clean.
Bonnet cleaning is a fast and effective method for cleaning carpets in commercial settings. It is also relatively inexpensive, as it requires minimal equipment and cleaning agents. However, it may not be as effective as encapsulation at removing deep-seated dirt and stains, and it can cause the carpet fibers to become compressed over time, resulting in a loss of texture and color.
Carpet shampooing is a carpet cleaning method that involves using a specialized cleaning solution, known as carpet shampoo, to clean the carpet. The shampoo is applied to the carpet using a machine with rotating brushes, which work the shampoo into the fibers of the carpet. The shampoo dislodges dirt, stains, and other contaminants from the carpet, which are then extracted using a powerful vacuum.
Carpet shampooing was once a popular carpet cleaning method, but it has become less common in recent years due to the availability of more effective and eco-friendly methods such as hot water extraction and encapsulation. However, some professional carpet cleaners still use carpet shampooing as part of their cleaning process.
One of the advantages of carpet shampooing is that it can effectively remove stubborn stains and odors from the carpet. It can also leave the carpet smelling fresh and clean. Carpet shampooing is also relatively affordable compared to other carpet cleaning methods, making it a good option for homeowners on a budget.
However, there are also some drawbacks to carpet shampooing. One of the main drawbacks is that it can leave the carpet wet for a longer period of time than other methods, which can lead to mold and mildew growth if not dried properly. Carpet shampooing also uses more water and cleaning solution than other methods, which can be wasteful and contribute to water pollution.
Another potential issue with carpet shampooing is that the cleaning solution used can leave residue on the carpet fibers, which can attract dirt and other contaminants over time. This can make the carpet appear dirty again shortly after cleaning. To avoid this issue, it is important to thoroughly rinse the carpet after shampooing and to use a high-quality cleaning solution that is specifically designed for carpet shampooing.
In summary, carpet shampooing is a carpet cleaning method that uses a specialized cleaning solution to clean the carpet. While it can effectively remove stains and odors, it may not be as effective or eco-friendly as other methods such as hot water extraction or encapsulation. Additionally, it is important to properly dry and rinse the carpet after shampooing to avoid issues with mold, mildew, and residue buildup.
